Description:
SAP-045 refers to an anomalous species of rats living in a region of pervasive darkness. Currently, little is known or documented about them. What has been observed is that these rats are extremely aggressive toward humans. They inhabit hives located in abandoned villages in China, which are heavily infested with rats. These villages are littered with corpses in every corner, with only a few survivors remaining. It is reported that these rats are cannibalistic and prey on humans. When a human is spotted, the rats show aggressive behavior, swarming toward the individual and consuming them alive.
Aftermath Protocols:
Only one rat has been captured and is currently secured at Site-19 by the Repository. Efforts are being made to understand the cause of its anomalous behavior. Preliminary reports from soldiers and researchers suggest the rats may be infected by an unidentified virus or parasite. However, the exact nature of the infection remains undetermined.
Discovery:
On August 19, 1978, in a village named “The King of the Guest,” residents were going about their daily activities when an unusual rat was discovered. Scientists captured the rat for experimentation. During their research, they noticed the rat had an unidentified virus of anomalous origin. Following the injection, the rat became highly aggressive, biting one of the scientists. This incident triggered a catastrophic chain of events. The rats rapidly multiplied, attacking and consuming humans. Panic ensued, and the village was overwhelmed by the infestation. Most of the population perished in the disaster, leaving the village entirely abandoned, save for the swarms of rats that remain. A handful of survivors managed to escape the carnage and have sought assistance from the outside world.
