Item#: SAP-040
Danger Level: Orange
Divergent Class: Humanoid

Description: SAP-040 is the designation given to a humanoid entity measuring 1.77 meters in height and weighing 45 kg, which in all definable physical parameters appears to be a common human mummy. Analyses and tests conducted suggest that SAP-040’s genetic sequence does not belong to Homo sapiens sapiens (modern human) and seems to be more genetically related to a distant relative, possibly dating back to a time even before the Homo genus. According to the tests performed on SAP-040, it is estimated to be approximately 20,000 years old.

SAP-040 has demonstrated to be a conscious and sapient entity, capable of communication. During experiments, SAP-040 has shown to be insensitive to pain and bodily damage, being able to regenerate from such injuries in a short amount of time.

As previously mentioned, SAP-040 is sapient and capable of verbal communication despite the lack of functional oral organs that would allow speech. When communicating, SAP-040 uses a masculine voice of an adult, apparently elderly; this voice sounds low and dry, with a rough tone and a deep pitch. SAP-040 has demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of languages, speaking the following:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Polish
  • German
  • Russian
  • Hebrew

In addition to these, SAP-040 also shows familiarity with multiple extinct native languages, as well as several currently unknown languages. A count of the languages spoken by SAP-040 has determined that it speaks around 450 different languages.

Despite the absence of functional organs for all basic sensory functions of living beings, SAP-040 is apparently capable of replicating them without the need for such organs. In other words, SAP-040 is able to think, hear, see, feel, taste, and more.

It appears that SAP-040 is incapable of movement, with its motions being vague and simple. More complex movements are difficult to perform and, consequently, autonomous locomotion is not viable. SAP-040 has demonstrated the ability to move its head and slightly move its lips, as well as make faint facial expressions; movements such as raising its arms seem to require significant effort.

SAP-040 is generally found constantly reciting a series of verses, prayers, paragraphs, and various verbal utterances of a religious nature. These prayers are spoken in an unidentified language. When SAP-040 was asked to translate the content of these chants, it was revealed that they praise, pray to, and long for the arrival of an unknown entity identified as "Yr'yatzhaball." Most of the chants recited by SAP-040 depict violent and grotesque situations, portraying them as 'pure' and 'divine' in the apparent eyes of the entity being prayed to.

Hearing the prayers of SAP-040 triggers a series of psyche-altering and cognitohazardous effects in individuals. When a subject hears SAP-040's prayers, they will proclaim themselves a member of the religion professed by SAP-040, following it as if it were a pastor or some kind of high-ranking religious mentor. Affected subjects will experience a strong desire to follow and listen to SAP-040's words, regardless of the implications, which may lead them to commit various acts:

  • Cannibalism.
  • Aggressive acts.
  • Self-inflicted injuries, such as mutilation of reproductive or sensory organs.
  • Sexual acts of all kinds, ranging from sexual intercourse between multiple individuals, rape and even [EXPLICIT DATA]. In general, various types of paraphilias seem to follow.
  • Homicide and femicide.
  • Suicide.
  • Among many others.

SAP-040 appears to ignore the psycho-infectious nature of its abilities and refers to these behaviors as individuals accepting their faith and following the path to salvation in the arrival of its god. To activate SAP-040's effects, a subject must hear at least one complete prayer, as the effects are not instantaneous. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that SAP-040's prayers can be non-violently and verbally interrupted by politely asking it to be quiet or during interviews and conversations with it; these interruptions do not seem to bother SAP-040 at all, nor does it show any displeasure when inviting staff to join its religion, even when they politely decline.

Aftermath Protocols: SAP-040 must be confined at all times to a standard enclosure for immobile entities measuring 5×5×3 meters. The enclosure has been soundproofed to prevent the auditory transmission of the mental effects produced by SAP-040's prayers. Recording and disseminating any audiovisual material showing SAP-040's prayers is prohibited, and any such recordings will be destroyed.

In the event that an individual is affected by SAP-040's chants, the affected subject will be placed in quarantine and removed from SAP-040. A procedure will be initiated to eliminate the psyche-altering presence from the subject's mind, following various psychiatric and therapeutic processes.

Discovery: SAP-040 was contained following an incident that occurred at a recently discovered archaeological site a few months prior to the event. The discovery and containment of SAP-040 took place on ■■/■■/1957 after a report of the discovery of a mummy at the site, during which all nearby archaeologists and excavators apparently went insane for no reason, attacking each other, mutilating one another, and engaging in [EXPLICIT] acts among the survivors and corpses. The situation was quickly detected, and all news regarding it was suppressed, after which a capture team was dispatched to the area.

The team managed to contain SAP-040 without issue or resistance, as it was seemingly admiring the actions of its 'devotees' in apparent silence. Following the securing of the object and the arrest of those involved, a series of procedures were initiated to suppress the events as effectively as possible and prevent an information breach. SAP-040 was transferred to a nearby facility for its containment.
