Item#: SAP-006
Danger Level: Yellow
Divergent Class: Animalia

Description: SAP-006 is a female specimen of the domestic chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) of the Cochin breed, with white plumage. It does not exhibit any anomalous physical properties aside from the production of SAP-006-1 instances. The specimen is healthy and has a docile nature. It typically spends its time in its nest or roaming the assigned pen.

Anomalously, SAP-006 produces eggs almost daily without the need for a male. The eggs produced by SAP-006 are normal and show no notable anomalies. On average, SAP-006 produces around 300 eggs per week.

The main difference between regular chicken eggs and those of SAP-006 is the hatching of random specimens from virtually any oviparous animal, some of which are of an anomalous nature. How these eggs are fertilized remains unknown. During the development of these eggs, no anomalies manifest, and they follow the incubation period typical for SAP-006's breed, appearing as a common chick. These specimens are designated as SAP-006-1.

When an SAP-006-1 instance hatches, it will look and behave like a normal chicken chick, with no physical traits distinguishing its anomalous nature; only genetic analysis reveals to which species the SAP-006-1 instance belongs. On average, the instances take about a week to fully develop, with most transforming into an adult specimen of an apparently random oviparous species around the seventh day of life. From this point on, the SAP-006-1 instance will adapt its behavior to match that of its respective species.

There seems to be no visual way of determining which animal the next SAP-006-1 instance will belong to during the egg-laying process of SAP-006. The only way to discover this is through genetic analysis. When SAP-006 is close to laying eggs—whether hours or minutes away—its genetic sequence will anomalously shift to correspond with the species of the SAP-006-1 instance it will lay. It may lay batches of eggs belonging to a single species, or, as is usually the case, eggs of varied and diverse species, showing genetic alterations in SAP-006.

Addendum-01:

According to observations, regardless of any behavior exhibited by the SAP-006-1 instances, they will always remain docile and demonstrate affection toward SAP-006. They also show some affection towards the other instances, but not as close to that shown with SAP-006.

Aftermath Protocols: SAP-006 is kept in an enclosed pen within the containment area for anomalous animals of domestic nature. SAP-006 is contained alongside other specimens of low-importance and low-danger anomalous chickens. The specimen does not require any greater containment measures than a regular specimen. Food and water must be provided regularly. A tag is tied to its leg to differentiate it from other specimens.

Instances of SAP-006-1 must be analyzed and contained depending on their nature. If necessary, the SAP-006-1 instance will be terminated if it becomes too hostile as it grows. Currently, the removal of eggs produced by SAP-006 before hatching is being considered.

Discovery: SAP-006 was discovered within the facilities of Site-14 following its sudden manifestation. There was no detection of the arrival of SAP-006 until shortly after its appearance activated the security system. At the time of the specimen's capture, it was found with a small, old cloth bag tied around its neck; inside the bag were the following objects:

  • A letter, apparently written on some type of machine. It was originally written in Latin.
  • A packet of poultry feed.
  • A small bottle of wine, with no identifiable label. The wine appears to be aged since around 1920.

After analysis, none of the objects were found to be anomalous or previously manipulated. Both the wine and the chicken feed were deemed safe for human consumption and for SAP-006. The contents of the letter were translated from Latin to English for reading and documentation; appropriate investigations are being conducted regarding the Person of Interest (PoI) and SAP-006 itself.

Below is the letter in question:

Here I leave you all my little present.
It's something simple you might think and it is, but… You are just starting out and forming, I want to see you grow and see what oddities you catalog. So I thought: Why not help them?
Well, here's my help. It'll be about your first anomalies and a mini introduction to the strangeness of reality. I'm so excited to keep watching you guys move forward. I have seen many agencies like yours, different times, different realities, different names… And they all have something in common! Their own bird that lays eggs out of anything! Well, that's something common among all of those, as well as the living statues. Enjoy!
