During an examination of the effects of the Great Scourge upon a particular town within Germany, of which shall not be named, We, I myself and my fellow physicians, came upon a particularly dreadful sight of corpses. I apologize to the reader for the callous nature in my wording, for my colleagues and I have seen far too many of a dead man, woman and child to truly call ourselves of the same pairings of a sane man. Though upon the pile drew forth a sound. And this sound frightened us in great terror, and we pledged to leave the town and speak naught of our perceptions, for we were sure we had come within the presence of either some demon or some damned creature too absurd for sane men to comprehend. Or worse yet, a sign of our madness seeping in after years of the war-like plague encroaching in on us.
But again we saw, in a depressive night in another ravaged town, therein we saw a great fire from a deep pit of slime wrought deep into the ground. No one alive dared dared venture out into the streets tonight, so we would not have known if what we saw was true. But if it was, and it was not simply our minds submitting to insanity, then we are sure it was nothing less than the flaming hole of Apollyon. And yet, we chose to bade it no further word. Perhaps thinking it may not be real if we do not speak of it.
But once more, upon a short-lived return to our home city, we all were stricken by fearsome dreams of a cosmic nature. of creatures without form and titanic things living beyond the stars and beyond the waxing world. And I saw, therefore, that a Great Man, with which I took to be God, but is announced Himself as 'The Sternal one. I dare not attempt to describe Him, for risk of blasphemy. He spoke and Be said to us,
"Why have you hidden what I have made known to you?"
Upen our sleep and night terrors, our spouses soon grow fitful with worry and awoke us. And upon our revival, as we all soon learned later, we confessed to our wives of the terrible events we witnessed in our pilgrimage.
We have seen what our minds should not be able to comprehend. But we cannot, or should not, un-know what we have known. Lest we leave the masses unprepared for what is to come. For what He has shown us.
